# NMKR Journey
It all began with the release of NFT-MAKER V1, in April 2021—a basic minting tool designed for single assets. Within a year, we rapidly evolved into a robust toolkit with NFT-MAKER PRO, tailored for non-developers keen on building within the Cardano ecosystem.
In the year 2022, we undertook a significant rebranding journey, transitioning from NFT-MAKER to NMKR. This transformation coincided with our expanded objectives and the diversification of our product portfolio, reaching beyond the NFT landscape. During this transformative phase, we also introduced the NMKR token, marking a pivotal milestone in our journey.

# Who Are the Founders of NMKR?

Patrick Tobler is the founder of the NMKR brand and has extensive training and knowledge in the Cardano blockchain space and programming experience in NodeJs, java, javascript, python, and C#. In 2021, he introduced the mass minting platform called NMKR Studio which is basically an API tool that enables NFT miniting and has generated a constant revenue stream for the brand. Today, NMKR Studio takes out the complexity of building products on different Blockchains by creating a mix of easy-to-use Development APIs and No-Code building blocks, that can be used in a modular way to fit all Blockchain development needs. NMKR Studio as a core product will also power other NMKR products and services such as NMKR Games, NMKR Store, and NMKR Agency.

# How Many NMKR tokens are there in circulation?
NMKR token is live on mainnet 1.5 billion tokens in circulation during presale and ICO. In addition, 40 million tokens are made available through IDO which is the third round. # What Makes NMKR Unique?
Since the influx of NFTs on Cardano, maintaining a balance between preventing fraud in a more decentralized way and centralized gatekeeping has been difficult. Maintaining proper verification methods has cost a lot financially and time-wise, making it difficult for many platforms to keep up. $NMKR will make the voices of the community heard by having the community decide what changes will apply in the NMKR ecosystem ranging from how rewards are adjusted to how NFT projects get verified for their authenticity. There will be multiple-use cases for $NMKR token in the future. # How is NMKR secured?
$NMKR infrastructure is based on the Cardano blockchain and benefits from Cardano's security measures.
The Cardano project is working on an environmentally sustainable and verifiably secure proof of stake (PoS) protocol called Ouroboros, which improves upon the security guarantees of a traditional proof of work model while using less power. NMKR runs its very own stake pool called NMKR Pool which is a reliable Cardano node contributing to the protocol.
Ouroboros protocol aims to create a network with sustainable and ethical growth. It's an incentive mechanism that rewards participants in the community for their involvement, making it possible through mathematically verifiable methods combined with behavioral psychology and economic philosophy with technology as well.
