Cryptocurrencies have become a fundamental component of the global financial system, enabling decentralized value transfer, programmable assets, and new governance models. While blockchain technology has advanced significantly, the security of most existing networks continues to rely on classical public-key cryptography. Widely used cryptographic schemes such as RSA, ECDSA, and DSA are considered secure under conventional computational assumptions but face structural vulnerabilities in the context of quantum computing.

As quantum computing technology progresses, sufficiently powerful quantum machines are expected to be capable of executing algorithms such as Shor’s algorithm. This capability would allow efficient factorization of large integers and computation of discrete logarithms, rendering classical public-key cryptographic systems insecure. In such a scenario, private keys could be derived from publicly available data, compromising digital signatures and undermining the security of blockchain networks. The point at which these cryptographic systems become practically vulnerable is commonly referred to as Q-Day.

qLABS has been established as a quantum-native crypto foundation with the objective of preparing the digital asset ecosystem for the transition to a post-quantum security environment. The project focuses on bringing patented and patent-pending quantum-resistant technology into Web3, with the stated goal of protecting digital assets against quantum-enabled threats. As part of this initiative, qLABS is developing infrastructure intended to address systemic security risks associated with the long-term viability of existing cryptographic standards.

To support this mission, qLABS is introducing several core components within its ecosystem. These include the release of the first quantum-safe token on the Hyperliquid network, known as $qONE, as well as the qONE Security Protocol and the Quantum-Sig smart contract wallet technology. Together, these components are designed to provide a framework for quantum-resistant asset security and transaction validation within blockchain environments.

The qONE Security Protocol combines post-quantum cryptographic algorithms standardized by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with zero-knowledge proofs. This combination is intended to enable secure, efficient, and verifiable transactions while maintaining compatibility with blockchain systems. The protocol is designed to support the long-term cryptographic resilience of major digital assets, including Ethereum, HYPE, USDT, USDC, and Solana, in the presence of quantum adversaries.

The qLABS ecosystem is structured around four primary elements: the $qONE token as a quantum-resistant ecosystem asset, the Quantum-Sig smart contract wallet for secure storage and transaction execution, and the qONE Security Protocol for on-chain validation of quantum-resistant transactions. These components are supported by intellectual property developed in collaboration with 01 Quantum, a publicly listed Canadian cybersecurity company with established expertise in post-quantum solutions.

Through these initiatives, qLABS aims to provide foundational infrastructure for a quantum-secure Web3 environment and to mitigate systemic risks posed by Q-Day for both institutional and individual participants in the digital asset ecosystem.
