About PoSciDonDAO SCI Token

What Is PoSciDonDAO?
PoSciDonDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that leverages the Base blockchain network to redefine personalized medicine research funding. Healthcare spending is growing every year, and treatment plans for life-altering diseases such as cancer are still a shot in the dark. Patients are treated with different therapies and both patients and doctors hope that one of these treatments will be effective. This current “one-size-fits-all” approach to treating patients can be a costly and exhausting burden to patients. Personalized medicine solves this. Personalized medicine research aims to identify biomarkers, often of genetic origin, that predict response to treatments of interest. However, this requires profound amounts of financial resources, and the funding process is prone to systemic issues such as bias, political influence and inefficient funding allocations. By leveraging blockchain technology, PoSciDonDAO hopes to accelerate breakthroughs in PM therapies, setting the stage for a future where healthcare is predictive and patient-centric.
SCI is the governance token for the DAO used for the decision-making process for the DAO's operations. DAO operations-related proposals can address various aspects such as marketing, token economics, governance processes, treasury management, token minting, and the election or impeachment of scientific experts.
How Many SCI Tokens Are There in Circulation?
SCI launched on Uniswap on December 10, 2024 with 12.87% of the maximum token supply (18.91 million) in circulation. There is no vesting schedule for SCI tokens bought.
What makes PoSciDonDAO unique?
PoSciDonDAO has an on-chain governance system fueled by a dual-token model, making PoSciDonDAO very unique especially in the DeSci space. By creating an on-chain governance system, the DAO creates a truly decentralized and transparent voting system, rather than rely on off-chain platforms such as Snapshot. Also, recognizing that low voter participation is a common challenge for DAOs, PoSciDonDAO designed a dual-token model to actively incentivize members to vote. When members vote, they will use their SCI tokens, and in turn, they will receive non-tradable PO tokens, which can later be exchanged for additional SCI tokens or other rewards in the future. This approach not only fosters active participation but also aligns incentives, ensuring members are rewarded for their commitment to the DAO’s success.
